Submission Guidelines

Everything left here is read by a person before anyone can find it. Nothing is published automatically.
These are the rules that decide whether something is approved. They exist for two reasons: to keep this a safe place for a stranger to open something unknown, and to make sure what you leave is genuinely yours to give.
It Has To Be Yours
Your own work, or work you have the right to share.
Leave something you made.
That means you wrote it, drew it, photographed it, painted it or composed it — or you hold the rights to it and are free to share it.
Do not leave:
- someone else's work, in whole or in part, without their permission
- work generated by someone else and presented as your own
- material copied from a book, a website, a magazine, a stock library or a social media account
- fan work that reproduces substantial parts of a protected character, story or image, unless you hold the rights
- anything you are under a contract not to publish
If you are quoting someone briefly inside your own piece, that is usually fine. If the quoted part is the piece, it is not.
We check. Submissions that appear copied are declined, and repeated attempts end in a permanent block from submitting.
Other People In Your Work
Consent, and what happens to a photograph's metadata.
If a living person is recognisable in what you leave — a photograph, a portrait, a story that identifies them — you need their permission to share it.
Do not leave anything that exposes someone else: their address, their phone number, their messages, their medical or financial details, their image without consent, or a private conversation they did not agree to make public.
Photographs are stripped of embedded metadata before they are stored. Location coordinates, camera serial numbers, timestamps and editing history are removed from JPEG, PNG and WEBP files automatically. This is done for you, but it is not a substitute for looking at what is actually visible in the frame.
What Cannot Be Left Here
The limits, stated plainly.
Nothing that:
- sexualises a minor, in any form, real or drawn or written
- depicts or encourages serious violence, self-harm or suicide
- harasses, threatens or incites hatred against a person or a group
- is unlawful where it is created or where it is read
- exists to advertise, recruit, solicit or sell
- attempts to identify, track or contact a specific reader
- contains malware, executable content or anything designed to harm a device
This is not a complete list and cannot be. Anything left here may be declined at the reviewer's discretion, and it does not have to fall neatly into a category above.
About You
Anonymous, a first name, or a pen name.
You choose what name goes with your work, if any. You are not required to give a real one, and there is no account and no profile.
Do not use a name that impersonates a real person or suggests an endorsement that does not exist.
Taking It Back
You can remove what you left.
When you leave something, you are given a private link. Keep it. It is the only way to take that piece back, and it cannot be reissued — there is no account to recover it from and no email on file to send it to.
Using that link removes the piece from the Shelf.
How Review Works
What happens after you press submit.
Everything is queued for a person to read. A piece is either approved, and becomes findable by strangers, or declined.
Declined work is not published and is not shown to anyone.
There is no queue position, no estimated time, and no appeal process — this is a small place run by one person, not a platform with a support department.
